we found out later that the east garden, the closest thing to the palace open to the public, was actually closed on mondays, so we never even got to cross the moat. *Viewed: 370 times.

went to lunch at at a kushiage place (deep fried meat, fish, veggies) where they didn't speak any english and we could barely order, called 'isomura'. *Viewed: 356 times.

the food was good enough, but a few things we literally had no idea what we were eating, giving the meal a bit of a fear factor vibe. exotic! *Viewed: 381 times.

we learned early on to just dump all our change into the plentiful beverage vending machines for water, tea or coffee drinks (cold or hot, in the same machine!), or sodas. i was a fan of the milky tea drinks. *Viewed: 357 times.

after wandering lost for a while, we located the 100% chocolate cafe, where they have 56 kinds of chocolates for sale, and if you buy food/drink, get a sample of the daily chocolate. *Viewed: 350 times.

after quite a bit of walking all day, we decided to dive into the metro system to get home, which is really easy to navigate and only dangerous if your friends push you. Viewed: 415 times.

we went to dinner that night in a randomly selected french/asian place in the basement food court of the roppongi hills mall. neat structure, mediocre food. although emily's 'hot pot' was on fire when they brought it out, which was neat. *Viewed: 320 times.
